Dear friends and colleagues,

rejoice with us!

The emcsr avantgarde 2016 Book of Abstracts is online!

First of all we would like to apologize for the long time that passed until we finally can announce the completion of the genuinely exciting emcsr 2016 Book of Abstracts. All the more we are very glad about the large scale and the variety of abstracts and authors.

Particularly we would like to highlight the essay by Dr. Phil. Giselher Guttmann, who met Ludwig von Bertalanffy in person during a meeting of scientists in the 50s and who deals with Bertalanffys writings and theories until today. He is retired professor and former chairman of the senate of the Sigmund Freud Private University Vienna, the official partner and host of the emcsr 2016.

The authorisation took some time but thanks to the publisher we are glad to be permitted to involve this article in the book. It is another contribution of a renowned member of the science community that enrich the book as well as the conference and that embed the young scientists of the emcsr avantgarde 2016 in a meaningful historical context.

In Addition we are deeply grateful about the welcome speech by the BCSSS Vice President Gerd B. Müller. He underlined the importance of the emcsr and pictured in appreciative and perceptive words the connection between the emcsr avantgarde 2016 and the Vienna Moderne at the turn of the 19th century.
