4th Circular Change Conference in Maribor showcases how to succeed as a business in the Circular Economy

Current challenges for humanity make a transition from a linear to a circular economy inevitable. But how may such a large-scale system change succeed, overcoming diverging interests of various societal groups, legal barriers, competition with conventional businesses and other constraints? The 4th Circular Change Conference on May 16 -17 in the beautiful city of Maribor, Slovenia focuses on this very problem, with its theme “On the ground – everyday challenges of circular companies”. This practical emphasis and the vibrant community of around 500 participants make the conference one of the key European events about the circular economy.

Ladeja Godina Košir and Karin Huber-Heim, leaders of the BCSSS Research Group Circular Economy Systems, are supporting these efforts as organizers, speakers and moderators at the conference. With their contributions, they continue the strong focus of the BCSSS on circular economy that was set in collaboration with Stefan Blachfellner, Managing Director of the center.

So how can circular businesses overcome the many challenges that they are facing?

To address this question, a diverse group of speakers presents some exemplary business cases from the four priority sectors set out in the Roadmap Towards the Circular Economy in Slovenia. The conference organizers stress that success stories such as these, radical collaboration and most of all, much more concrete action are needed. As such, the motto for the conference is moving towards “Less talk, more action.”

With these words, we would like to invite you to take action and sign up for the conference now, joining world class speakers, top management, government officials, entrepreneurs, professionals, researcher and experts, creatives and others at the must-be-there event for your circular economy journey.

If you cannot make it in person, you may still follow the conference and share your own insights using the hashtag #circularchange2019 on all social media channels.
